'Grow Your Future - Grow Waikato'
The primary aims of Get a Life are to:
- Raise awareness of skill needs of the Waikato and the huge range of career opportunities available to individuals now, and into the future;
- Develop a wider understanding in the community of what "career" actually is, why it is important to individuals and how to "Get a Life";
- Emphasise the value of workforce development to employers ? attracting, developing and retaining staff; and
- Respond to and be supportive of government initiatives relating to skill development and youth making the transition to tertiary study and work.

Attention Employers, Training Providers, Professional Careers Personnel and Industry Leaders.
We are pleased to invite you to showcase your organisation in Get a Life Careers Month 2011. This is a fantastic way to reach your target market with publicity and advertising at NO COST to you. It's simple.
1. Plan a free career-related event during careers month. (It doesn't need to be costly or time-consuming.)
Examples include:
- Industry or tertiary open days
- Seminars or workshops
- Career planning workshop
- CV development workshop
- Anything relevant to career development or career opportunities
2. Then add your event by linking through to the 'Add an event' page.
3. Download a Get a Life POSTER (PDF version) OR (MSWord version) to advertise your event in the community.
